On April 22, 2019, the Second World Finance Forum and the “Belt and Road” Cooperation Beijing Forum co-hosted by the Center for BRICS and Global Governance (CBGG) , the World Finance Forum (WFF) and the Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee (RBWC) was successfully held in Beijing. H.E. Rudy Kiryl, Belarusian ambassador to China, was invited to make a speech at the forum.
H. E. Rudy Kiryl said that six years ago, President Xi Jinping put forward the “Belt and Road” initiative. We considered the “Belt and Road” Initiative to be very important. In the past six years, we have seen increasing political trust between China and Belarus. The heads of our two countries have met more than twice in three years, and the two prime ministers have met more than twice in a year. The “Belt and Road” initiative is continuously promoting and strengthening trade ties between China and Belarus, and our two countries have also signed many important economic cooperation agreements under the “Belt and Road” framework. At present, China has become more open, more innovative, and has made continuous development. Last year, Belarus’s FDI investment from China was more than tripled. Currently more than half of Belarusian direct investment came from China.Relations between China and Belarus will have a new development. As far as the “Belt and Road” is concerned, it is not only related to the relationship between China and Belarus, but also the internationalization of Belarus.
